On the last night before school starts, five high school students gather deep in the woods to roast marshmallows and swap spooky stories around a crackling campfire. As they thrill each other with tales of the hungriest of new neighbors, theatrical masks that change a lot more than your face, a dystopian future where opening a book is the most dangerous act of all and a host of other frightening fictions, their darkest secrets and fears are revealed until they discover they aren't just telling scary stories—they're in one.
